In the last couple of years, we have seen this trend of shoe commercial with amazing abstract animation. Fibers that braid together by themselves, a shoe that flies with speed of jet planes, bubbles turn to a shoe, a shoe that turns into a car, and the list goes on and on. Meaningful or meaningless it is always oddly satisfying to see these commercial. I was challenged to do a commercial like that, and while I was doing my R&D for that project I came up with different setups and rigs inside Cinema 4D. So today I will show you step by step how to have absolute controls over dynamic splines, how to braid fibers using Mograph module and at the end how to render this scene using Arnold Renderer where I explain some tips how to speed up your render time quite a bit.
